Motor Boating Opportunities?

So now that i have a boat with 20 hp motor im looking into new lakes to fish i live near harrisburg area, but im seeing a large amount of the lakes near me or anywhere near me within 1.5hrs are all restricted other then raystown and marburg it looks like i cant use a motor, also i bought a 16' stryker with a 20hp motor its a semi v bottom is fishing on the susky an option? the one person at the dealer was telling me i would require a larger motor to travel the river i am not looking to fly up an down the river just find some nice places to fish hopefully steering clear of the rockier areas of the river i dont want to bang up my new boat. So is there any other good lakes to fish with the motor or just good lakes to fish in gen and can i use it on the river.

From September to April my world revolves around hunting the rest is preseason.

Blue Marsh is unrestricted HP but has a lot of no wake area, there is also Beltzville but avoid all summer weekends. Crazy muscle boats and loads of wave runners.

Both Blue Marsh + Beltsville have large "No Wake" areas. Both lakes have launches in the "No Wake" areas at Blue Marsh the PFBC ramp is up near Bernville on 183. Beltsville it is called Preacher's I believe it is off 209(not sure). I can also tell you they are both patrolled but that still doesn't stop idiots flying around in the "No Wake" zones.(at least at BM). Weekends do get nuts - you are better off fishing the night shift,,,,,, BUT learn the area first........ Fog can be a real issue.

I would think you would be OK on the river as long as you stayed in the lower "dam" areas. I would proceed with caution maybe with a set of eyes up front to watch for rocks till you learn the water. I would also pay attention to water levels + flow - low clear flows in late August/September it will be a lot easier to see hazards.

Thanks i wasnt sure about blue marsh because on the interactive map i found it had it listed at a restricted lake. I just jumped up from a 12' 1969 seaking to my bassboat so i know how much a little wake can disturb other fishers so a slow wake area is fine with me. What is good for fishing at blue marsh?
