Next Habitat Work Day on SGL 219

Guys, part II of the aspen cut will take place on Saturday, March 25, SGL 219. We will meet at the PGC building on Reagan Hill Rd at 8:30-9:00 AM and proceed to the site of our last cut to hopefully finish that area. PPE is required if you will be operating a chain saw. If you don't have helmet system and chaps, we do have extras you can use. Lunch will be provided afterward. Any questions, please contact me here or via email. THX.

Bugle, we can always use cutters!! We had 12 men cutting last time and we took down approximately 3 of the 5 targeted acres. So far we have at least 9 committed to the project. We hope to drop the rest of the targeted trees this time and then the area will be completed in time for Spring green up.

The habitat project is still on for Saturday, 3/25. We will meet at the PGC building on Reagan Hill Rd on SGL 219 at 9:00 AM. Bring your PPE if you plan on running a chain saw. We will be daylighting fruit trees due to the aspens budding out. That is not a good time to cut aspens. Lunch will be provided after we are done cutting.

We had a good turn out, 10 guys (RGS, QDMA and PGC) showed up to work on the project. We cut down, in and around 4 to 5 acres. Daylighted fruit trees, mostly pear and some apple from an old orchard and left any beneficial fruit bearing trees stand such as some cherry and serviceberry (Juneberry). The rains held off until we were enjoying a lunch of some tasty hot dogs on the hibachi. Thanks to everyone who helped cut and make brush piles. A special thanks to george Nichols for supplying the grub and cooking and to Bob Wagner for bringing the cold drinks.
