NEPA RGS Habitat Project!
We are looking for 20 men and women who love to cut down trees on state land!
Date: Saturday April 2, 2011
Time: 8am till 1pm(approx)
Where: SGL 91 North of Thornhurst and the Lackawanna State Forest on Suscon Road
Details: We are responsible for clearing five 1 acre tracts along an old log road across from the Mud Pond area.
Meeting Place: We are meeting at the PGC Rifle Range on Suscon Road in SGL 91 between 7:30 and 7:45am, then we will caravan down to the project area. There is parking along Suscon Road and those with 4 wheel drives will be able to drive into the project along the old log road.
Items Needed: we will be doing chainsaw work, so chainsaws, 2 cycle gas and bar oil are necessary. The PGC asks that everybody bring safety equipment not limited to helmets, hearing and eye protection, chaps, leather gloves and work boots!
Lunch: NEPA RGS will provide a hot lunch on the grill, chips, pretzels and refreshments afterward for all the volunteers!
PGC Land Management Supervisor, Mike Beahm, says he will mark off more tracts for us to clear if we get more than 20 volunteers!
