Promised Land State Park

Does anyone have a map or information about allowable hunting areas around the lake? My parents just bought a cabin on Park ave, and I'd like to take my sons up there squirrel hunting this fall. There are some areas surrounding the lake that are marked "archery only" but that's about all the information I can find. Any help would be appreciated!

If you stop by the Park office they should be able to help you. Generally speaking most "developed" areas of the Parks are "off limits" or offer restricted hunting. Both with types of weapons used and types of critters you can hunt. For a rough idea of locations you can hunt look at the map on the Pa DNRC page.... http://www.docs.dcnr.pa.gov/cs/group...cnr_003250.pdf

If you go to the pa.game commission web site and click on mapping center you'll find state game lands #183, it's not to far from Promise Land state park. If you decide to go there, go past the gun range on Rt. 6 east and take the first left on Kimbles Rd. all along there it is good squirrel hunting and your sons should have a good time.
