Camp Sign

Anyone have any pictures of their camp name plates/signs??

My buddy and a few of his family members bought a new camp last year, and they have named it but not put a sign up. I am thinking about possibly buying them a custom made sign to put up on the camp. I am just looking for some ideas of what others look like.

Re: Camp Sign

Nothing fancy here. I bought these laser cut metal signs off of ebay and dad put them on the board. In this picture the back board is in need of fresh white paint. We do that every few years.

Re: Camp Sign

Nothin' fancy at my place, but I do have one of these critters down at the end of the driveway? So do many of the other camps in my area. Seems to be all the rage lately?

Great looking signs above. See more of them over in Potter on the older camps, not so many over my way. Always thought they were kinda neat. I'd like to have one that just says Est'd 1970.

Re: Camp Sign

First the story on how this sign came about.
A couple of years back, in bear season, some of the regulars came upon this old double man crosscut saw, and they hauled it back to camp. It then ended up at my son's place. He cleaned, painted, and mounted it on the board. His girl friend then painted the lettering on it, and along with their two sons gave it to me this pass father's day.
The camp was built by the CCC in 1936, and Claster's lumber did some logging in the area shortly after, so the saw was probably from that era.

The day that you tarry is the day that you lose.

Re: Camp Sign

C D B, That thing is SWEET! I really like that, esp since the saw was found nearby and not bought somewhere.
