Re: Three Crows Lodge

Yes, if you drive route 948 between Barnes at 666 and the junction with 66 at Chaffee you can't miss it. It's on the North side of the road right where you turn up into the Fork Run camps. Saw the biggest bear I've ever seen up by the cemetery there a few years ago.

Re: Three Crows Lodge

It is one of the few remaining buildings from the tannery in the late 1800's.
I have not seen much activity there in the last few years.

My brother lives down the creek up there those tannery
buildings were made of all red brick all the other ones fell down from lack off use. When I was young in the early 60tys we hunted with the sunset camp till my dad got his place down by cheery run were my bro lives now. I haven't deer hunted up there in 20yrs me and my bro hunt in green county now. still fish and turkey hunt up there

Re: Three Crows Lodge

I'll have to drive over and check it out....on google earth, doesnt appear to be the same place. Of course, I havent been there since the early 70s, and was just a teenager, but it certainly wasnt red brick, I have a few old pictures from Dad, and maybe a minute or so of some old 8mm movies....

Re: Three Crows Lodge

It isn't red brick, it is white painted wood sided , black trim if i remember right...had a big pine come down in its yard too if i remember correctly. It is right before you go up that long hill on 948 correct??

Exactly. Right below the cemetery and directly opposite the road that takes you up to Watson Farm Road.

Re: Three Crows Lodge

It is black hemlock siding just like all the original tannery buildings.
The hemlocks in front were all removed when 948 was rebuilt a few years ago.
