Sandy Run Road... Renovo

Has anyone been up or down Sandy Run Rd lately. I came back on the 1st Tuesday and there was about 2" of solid ice on it. I was wondering if any of that melted off during last weeks higher temps. I'm sure it's icy now just wondering if it's as bad as last week.
Thanks...

It wasnt bad end of last week. Not sure now. The worst part was past Boone toward Hensel Fork. Im debating running up late tonight. I hope its not as icy as it was. Made it hard to get around. Good luck if ya head up!

I don't know, but the dirt roads around here are pretty icy right now....

Make sure you put your chains on before you slide into the ditch this time

I ran it last Friday and it was fine but it could be pretty icy now. Just came home this afternoon. Deer hunting probably over for the year. I doubt I'll get out again. Was really cold in Tamarack the past few days!!

Tuesday it was snowing and slippery on 144 so I didn't even try to go up Sandy to Patten Ln.

Yes... I learned my lesson there. They don't give you the traction you would expect inside the bag.
Looks like I'll be hunting around home now... < 6" of snow coming. I don't want to leave the family when stuff like that is coming.

Now they are saying 1-3 so I'm gonna head up. Hunting at camp is better... Even though there are less deer than here.

Re: Sandy Run Road... Renovo

Was up to camp. The bottom part of Sandy still has a good bit of ice on it. All the snow is gone from the top of the mtn and from the top of Sandy Rd too. The ice on at the bottom of Sandy might be gone in the next day or so.

Squeaks,

Where is your camp? We run Sandy Run Road a lot as it leads to our cabin at the headwaters of Paddy's run.
