Headin' to Wharton today!

I'm leaving work at 11:00am and heading to camp for the weekend! We have a couple tags to fill and should have fresh snow in the morning. Hopefully I can beat the weather and make it to camp before it gets too nasty. What a great weekend ahead of me...starting with leaving work EARLY! I'm sure I will be in The Wharton Hotel at some point. Maybe I'll see some of you? Everybody take special care due to the weather and allow some extrea travel time. Good luck and be safe!

Re: Headin' to Wharton today!

Was there any snow on the ground? Haven't been up since in-line muzzy season. We're really looking forward to it. Hope to see some deer. We have a few doe tags and buck tags to fill!

GOOD luck guys!!! Should have some great and fresh tracking snow. Get on a track and stay on it...be amazed what that will teach ya about mountain deer.

Have all next week off...Southern Potter was on the list of stops but it appears that has now fell off and I am back to just 2E and 2F and I am feeling it today ( bummed out).

Re: Headin' to Wharton today!

There was some, but most was melting off. It was warming up quick when I pulled out.

Re: Headin' to Wharton today!

I left for home 9AM this morning temp was 38 at the Wharton. It was a great week weatherwise. Portage road was OK Monday but got worse each day as things warmed up. Worked off of the right road from the twin gates and saw more dog, cat, turkey, grouse and bear tracks than deer. Slim pickings. First time I remember not seeing a deer brought out there. Very little snow was left on top as of thurs PM. Good luck, be safe and most of all, Enjoy.
