Secure your propane tanks

My son just returned from camp and informed me the propane tanks were empty. WHAT? I just filled 2 100lb bottles in early spring. I secure the tanks for stability but don't lock then in any way. Looks like the tanks were replaced with 2 empties. Sounds far fetched, but the regulator was attached but the chain used to keep then in place was not. This is a new one for me. Never had any problems before.

Re: Secure your propane tanks

Somebody is cooking with your gas!! You may want to alert local LEO- could be a sign of a local lab in that area. May just be someone forgot to get gas for a holiday weekend and took yours.

Wishing I was at camp!

Re: Secure your propane tanks

We had a metal cage made by a welder and locked them, no problems...

Re: Secure your propane tanks

Just thinking out loud why would they bother to make the effort to exchange their empty' s for your full cylinders ?

Would think they would have left with yours and not swapped out theirs other than hoping you would not notice and just assume you didn't shut the valves.

Guess you have to lock em up to be sure.Betcha they will be back for round 2
