Deer Season Menu

I know it's a little early, but huntin, fishin and the mountains are always on my mind.

I'm thinking about making deer burgers one night. I like them topped with an assortment of the following.

Cheese, (horseradish, provolone ,cheddar) Bacon, clump blue cheese, fresh chicken eggs (over easy so the yolk breaks over the burger) and of course all the usual fixins. Probably fry some fresh cut potatoes for a side.

Re: Deer Season Menu

Try ( If you have a source ) the home canned Italian style hot peppers in oil on a deer burger. You will not regret it !

One night we always have a big Spaghetti dinner.
Hot and Sweet Italian sausage and my famous Meatballs.
Garlic bread and a bottle of Merlot.

Re: Deer Season Menu

Saturday will be burgers over the outside fire pit , Beer and fries . Venison stroganoff, salad and wine on Sunday evening. Chili, spaghetti,Pizza and leftovers the rest of the first week. Second week usually is pot luck depending who shows up for that week. Breakfast first morning is always eggs, bacon, home fries, coffee and toast, breakfast the remainder of the 2 weeks is coffee, toast, cereal, and pancakes. Lunch is on your own, whatever is in the fridge is always fair game for lunch.

Re: Deer Season Menu

Bigherm that is awesome

Friday we have wings and pizza from town (Marienville)
Saturday we are doing hind quarters and backstraps on the barrel, burgers on the grill and chicken and a small pig on the spit.
Sunday is lasagna, salad and garlic toast.
Monday is chuck roast, gravy and potatoes in the slow cookers.
Tuesday is what ever is left to eat LOL lunchmeat.
Wednesday I treat myself to dinner in town.
Bacon, eggs and sausage are always on the menu but Monday we make breakfast sandwiches which (no pun intended) are easy and quick. Lots of goodies and beverages plus good times=buck camp!
Advantage is I filled my tag so all of the little things I can take care of when needed, usually we have 2 or 3 in camp that have done just that so they are here for support and fun!

live laugh love and hunt hard!

Forest county got to love it!

Re: Deer Season Menu

We go up second week. By far my favorite meal is usually Sunday night after everyone arrives.

It's another Thanksgiving meal but at Camp. Turkey, Mashed potato Stuffing, cranberry sauce, sweet potato, biscuits ... the works.

Re: Deer Season Menu

Get down Bigherm! Looks good. We have done leg of lamb on a spit. We have a local lamb farm to get them from fresh.
