Who's heading up for bear?

Who all is going up to camp for bear season? I'll be up with some family members and maybe a buddy for the season, but I'm also going up a few days next week to do some scouting...although I already know there's a bunch of bears in my area. Good excuse to go up for a few days (Tues. night through Friday).

Since I'm putting an addition on my place - starting construction in March - I still have some trees and shrubbery to move -- and a couple more things to plant in other areas. Anyone who has seen my place knows about the landscaping I have done (probably the best landscaped place in Potter County!!!)...

Re: Who's heading up for bear?

Definately going up. Has become a tradition at our camp to be up for it. Will probably go up Thursday and hunt that night and Friday with the bow before saturday.

Saturday morning at camp I was walking into my stand with no flashlight bc of the moon and I noticed something out ahead of me 30 yds but I didnt remember a log there behind the stand. So I got out my flashlight and shined it only to see two beady little eyes starring back at me...

I shut the light off and walked back to the path and around out onto the food plot to the stand instead.

Once I got into my stand I checked my phone to see the time and my dad had texted me saying he was at the base of his stand and a sow and two cubs came running from my direction 20 yds beside him...

We see plenty of bear in archery but that sent chills up my spine!

2F for a while...

Re: Who's heading up for bear?

Bear season is the highlight of the year at my camp. My little camp only sleeps 4 comfortably the way the bedrooms are arranged. I have two guys that are begging me to sleep in recliners or on the floor in the living room because they hear we have such a good time up there during bear season. One of the guys doesn't even hunt. I think the original 4 have decided to allow one more guy so we are not bumping into each other for 5 days. November 23rd can't come soon enough.
