Digital tv converters

Does anyone in the tionesta area or nearby have a digital converter for TV. Since they switched from analog I have none . If anyone has one how many Chanel's do you get. Not really interested In opinions on TV at camp so let's try to stick to the question. Thanks .... ELK

Been wondering the same thing.
We have a dish at camp but the expense is tough on our budget.

My camp is between tionesta and pleasantville we tried it when they first came out and didn't pick anything up. We are in a valley though so if you are on a hill you might have better reception. You can always get dish at home and get a extra dish for camp and take the receiver from home to camp when you are up.

Re: Digital tv converters

You should be able to get the three PBS channels out of Clearfield. My camp is north of Coudersport and I get them. I used to get the big three networks out of Buffalo before the switch but they were gone afterwards. Another "upgrade" that, in reality, was a downgrade.

Anyhow, PBS features back to back, fifteen muinute episodes of Weather World from 5:30 P.M. to 6:15 P.M., it's a good weather program out of state college.

Eh...wot?

Re: Digital tv converters

We are between Marienville and Tionesta and are able to pick up the three Penn State channels previously mentioned, and occasionally two more. We bought a flat digital antenna from walmart and have it laying on the roof of the camp, hope to get it higher sometime. The antenna really helped and it was about 30 bucks. When the digital signal is coming in strong the picture is far more clear than the analog ever was. But we miss spinning the analog antenna and yelling stop when the picture got good!

[]My camp is between corry and spring creek warren county)

Wow, bringing some real memories back. I used to hunt in Spring creek and stayed at the campground. The owner of the property back in the 1980s was also the care taker for a large piece of land that we hunted on. I got my first deer there.

Corry is where we would buy our beer, it was only 8 miles away and we became friends with Joe who owned the beer distributor.
