Porch Furniture for the Deck & Log Cabin

ladies & Gentlemen,
This past week we added a new Hickory Bench to the Churchill
home deck, it was originally purchased for the Log Cabin
Pivilion, however after my better half saw the bench on the home deck in Churchill I doubt I will be able to move it up to Potter/Tioga. In fact two swivel chairs just like the bench, will probably be ordered for the deck now. I really like this back woods kind of furniture no matter, at the log cabin or on the home Churchill home deck. For you guys and girls who like this kind of furniture also, it is pictured below.

The original hard wood bench at the cabin goes back to even before we relogged the
Potter/Tioga Log Cabin, Russell's Chain saw work is world famous, his talent is truly incredible.

Re: Porch Furniture for the Deck & Log Cabin

very awesome! We Looked at a very similiar bench for the front porch of the camp (little afraid to leave out) also the sassafras bed or the cedar log bed for our bedroom (when the inside of the camp is done) This kind of stuff adds so much character to a place, can be a little pricey though.

Forest county got to love it!

blueridgehunter,
Sir I agree and we have the Hickory bed and bedside tall
table in the log cabin, and with the original cherry furniture with it, this kind of furniture, makes the character of our log cabin what it really is.

Look on the bright side...Invariably when you finally buy something that nice, you see one you like even better a couple weeks later. Now when that happens, you can take it right on up north cuz there's no room at home

btbowhunter56,
Thanks for the complement, going to be a while before another bench is purchased, no doubt about it. Trying to purchase an RV for my Gun Dog training operation, mostly to take on Grouse hunting trips up north & out west right now.
Any further purchase of additional deck furniture is way off in the future now, however you are probably right, I will see some fantasic bench this next week.

blueridge,
I know how you feel about the bench disappearing off the front porch, however in Potter/Tioga people look after each others property and thieves do not last long around here most of the time.

Re: Porch Furniture for the Deck & Log Cabin

Pine creek,
Up until this year I had nothing to speak of come up missing/stolen (rope block, shepherds hook thats all) even though the camp sits by itself but on a traveled gravel road, the camp owners look out for each other plus I have a couple friends who live there but to watch the place 24/7 tough. I just had someone break into my shed and steal all the copper from it, no tools cause that means work. I will leave something out sooner or later right now a little scared, but we did look at a similiar bench for the front porch and that would look awesome!!! It will happen!

Did you buy the bench locally???

Re: Porch Furniture for the Deck & Log Cabin

blueridgehunter,
The new Hickory Bench was purchased thru the Adamsburg
Antique shop, one of the vendors who participates has hard wood furniture for sale on the 2nd floor, I purchased it
there, when it went on sale. I suggest you shop around for this kind of hard wood furniture, it tends to be costly.

Re: Porch Furniture for the Deck & Log Cabin

blueridgehunter,
Good luck finding exactly what you want, took me a while
to find this particular Hickory bench, no doubt about it.
As you say, it needs to kind of jump out at you and also fit into your place. It was kind of nice that this bench
fits right in on the Churchill deck, the more I see it there
the more I know it belongs there. Now I start looking for the Hickory Swivel Chairs to match the bench, for use at each end of the table.
