Galeton Fireworks

Did anybody have a good veiw? They sounded great but from where we sat(near the movie theater) the smoke blocked most of them out. Sure would have been nice if some air was moving

Re: Galeton Fireworks

We sit across the lake, on Rt. 6. The smoke got a little heavy through some of it, but for the most part we saw them all. Yet another great show for the boys in Galeton.

Sounds like we just picked a bad spot to sit then. We normally sit on the rt 6 side.

Re: Galeton Fireworks

Rod - we were on the steps of the movie theater - apparently very close to you guys. I did see your Dad - I parked behind him, but he was quickly lost in the crowd!

And you're right - sure was a lot of smoke, and probably looked the same no matter where you sat. Hot weather, after a storm, and in a valley will trap the smoke. Actually, I'm surprised the smoke didn't last - stuck in the valley - until Tuesday!

We were on the bridge by acorn. Saw the smoke but it stayed away from us. We had a great view. Was that rain cold?? Wow! Glad the rain ended quick

Re: Galeton Fireworks

Sat on the north side of the lake near the water. I swear the fireworks were right above me. I don't think anyone really had a chance to see the fireworks without seeing the smoke. Still an awesome show. Rain was not cold but it sure came quickly. Went home soaked. Fell down the bank while climbing up to the ridge. Saw a lot others do the same. I'll be there next year for sure.

Re: Galeton Fireworks

we were over behind the school. The smoke blocked some of it but at the same time it looked pretty cool when it was glowing different colors from the fireworks. Thankfully my parents had their van parked at the school so everyone piled in there until the rain passed.
