Well cost...???

I believe I need a new submersible well pump. My pump is 250' deep. Does anyone have a good idea on how much something like that costs to have replaced by a professional? I would like to have some numbers in my head so I know they are not taking advantage of me.
Thanks...

Re: Well cost...???

Your around 500 bracket there not cheap, but get a good one remember how much a few extra dollars will do for you when its working in deer season. I had a cheaper one at first but 2 years later lighting struck my well and ins. paid for another one. I had the local driller that drilled it do all the work and just bought his. Might of been a few bucks more i wasent paying anyway but they know the good and the bad.

When it comes to pumps, you get what you pay for.

Re: Well cost...???

I had mine at my house replaced two or three years ago by a local well-driller. I probably still have the invoice at home... I'll see if I can find it. I want to say it was between $700 - $900 installed (sorry for the range). I remember thinking it was incredibly expensive, but I researched the actual pump, and what others were charging, and it was in the same ballpark.

Re: Well cost...???

What's going on to make you think you need a new pump? Sometimes the contacts get cruddy and need cleaned or you get a bad spot in the electrical line. My pump quit working one time. I tapped on the contact cover with a wrench and its worked fine ever since. My buddy's quit one time. We pulled the pump and found a bare spot in the wire.

I don't have ducks. I don't have rows. I have squirrels. And they're drunk.

Re: Well cost...???

My pump had to be replaced 3 years ago. The well is 280 ft down. They replaced it with a Jacuzzi pump that was rated to 440 ft.
Pump, labor, and warranty for 10 years was 1500.00.

My ability to remember lyrics from songs of the 60's far exceed my ability to remember why I walked into the kitchen

Re: Well cost...???

it really is not that hard. pump, check valve, anti-rotation and the splice kit. Toughest part is pulling all of the plastic pipe out which depending on your well depth (which you should know for buying the pump) could take a while. hook it back up just like you found it and thats it! Good luck should be a piece of cake. the pump is any where from 400-650.

live laugh love and hunt hard!

Forest county got to love it!
