After about 22 years of use without any major renovations I decidied during last hunting season this was going to be the year we (my pop, I and some help) kicked it into gear and made some changes to our place. My place is a 3 bedroom rancher with a decent sized kitchen and living room. Its been a great hunting camp with alot of memories over the years. It really just needed to be done. I planned on adding a deck to grill on, adding recessed lights throughout the place, re-ran all the plumbing converting everything from pvc to pex, re-did all the drain lines under the floors, put a full size custom shower in for some of our bigger hunters, a new kitchen, new floors throughout, retape and paint the place, changed the electric from fuses to a new 100 amp service panel, all new switches and outlets, all new 12-2 wire througout. A new on demand propane hot water heater (highly recomended)Knotty pine wanescoat in the kitchen and living room. Even though Im in law enforcement now for over 12 years I was a union carpenter for 7 before changing. My father a carpenter for 30 before retirement. Between the 2 of us we have no problem running electric or plumbing as well as the other stuff. We still have some odds and ends to finish up but for the most part the insides done. Next spring the outside (new siding and windows) gets done.
We kicked off the re-construction in mid febuary with some snow on the ground
We started on the deck and basic tearout of the kithcen, living room and bathroom.
The old kitchen
Over the course of many trips to camps we were able to make some headway into things
Winter gave way to spring and on the way into camp one day I caught this sign at the shawville township building..lol
Last trip a few weeks ago we finally finish for the year. i capped and trimmed all the wainscoting. Like I said some minor touch up stuff to be done, But it sure does look different than our old hunting camp
The living room
I have well over a 100 pix of the place through the stages or renovations but I would be here forever posting. Just the basics and in time for Hunting season 2012
