Howe Township, Forest County

I found a notice on my camp door yesterday stating "Howe township has an ordinance prohibiting random shootings and or target practice within the township boundaries" plus additional no shooting rules.
In some ways I am glad as there has been lots of blasting over the years but it will hurt me as I own land with a safe range.

All the camps near me have the notice stuck in their front door.

News to me! We always go over to Sheffield Clb to do any serious shooting. Only costs a few dollars to join.

Good, I hope Kingsley Township is next in line. Some of these bozos up here amaze me. You wanna shoot go to a designated range, plain and simple.

Russell City has a range. It costs $5 a year to join the Sportsmans Club.

I don't have ducks. I don't have rows. I have squirrels. And they're drunk.

I don't agree with this.... If I own the land and I'm a responsible gun owner and hunter, I should be able to shoot. I don't own a camp to not be able to shoot and hunt on my own property....

You dont have to agree with it but if your camp is in Howe Township your gonna do it and hopefully Kingsley Township is next in line. And I never said anything about hunting just shooting. Responsible gun owner or not there are plenty of designated ranges and sportsmans clubs, etc to go and shoot at their is absolutly no need for yo-yo's to be constantly shooting off guns around camps, period!

The ordinance will help protect the township if someone gets shot from target shooting.Plus people that actually live there may be happier not having thier lives interupted by gun fire all the time.It can't keep you from hunting though.

Re: Howe Township, Forest County

Has anyone actually seen the regs or law passed.

Just asking cause there are lots of laws. State, fed and all the way down to township.

If you have a backstop you may still be legal??

If they tried to pass that in my township at home or camp I would be at every meeting telling everyone at the head table they will never get re elected.
