Help finding owner of a camp

I need help to try to find the owner of a camp in Huntington county. There is no house number or 911 address on it. If you leave State College on 26 going over the mountain toward Huntington, you top the mountain and enter the Rothrock. The second right is Charter Oak Road. Take that and go about a mile, sitting on the right side on the bank is a little old one room camp in pretty bad shape. It has an old sign on the side that says " The Turkey Roost". I talked to the neighbors, and they think the owner may be from York, but they are not sure. My intentions are to see if the owner would consider selling, just being honest and open. If anyone here knows who might own the place, or can help, please let me know.

Re: Help finding owner of a camp

A plat map search at the County Courthouse would probably get you the information you are looking for. Some counties have their plat maps online.

Eh...wot?

If its a state camp you could contact the pscla. They might be able to help you.

Re: Help finding owner of a camp

Its a private owner. I can pull it up on Earth maps, look at it from every direction, but I don't have an address or parcel number. I went on Huntingdon counties website, but I don't see that they have Parcel GIS. Someone will recognize it here I am hoping.

Ask a local realtor to pull up the public records. It should only take them a minute. My access only covers the SE corner.

Re: Help finding owner of a camp

Just shy of two hours. I am thinking to the future, I have some good friends very near there. I have been looking for a "fixer"camp around there for a long time with no luck. About a month ago, a farmhouse came up for sale 5 miles down the road, I got a response three days later that the owner changed their mind and pulled it off the market. I just happened to drive past this one recently, and it looks like it is not used or enjoyed, so what the heck, I will find out if they would entertain selling it. Nothing ventured, nothing gained!

Re: Help finding owner of a camp

Unless I am doing it wrong, Huntingdon county site does not give you that option. Some counties charge to see it online, but I don't even see an option.

Your probably not doing it wrong, The last time I check Centre County didn't have theirs online either.
You will need to go to the Huntington County Court house, tax office. They should be able to let you pick out the parcel on the map and then give you the owners name and address, at lease centre county use to do it that way.
