Sounds like you would want to look in the Kennerdell Area of Venango County.

When you decide on a place think about leaving Friday after work and how that can affect travel time. Depending on your location it can add a hour just getting out of PGH.

Gentlemen,
TATERDAVID gives sound advise, if you live in the Pittsburgh area traffic can add an hour to an hour and a half to your friday night escape route. If you life on the east side of Pittsbugh, you want something in Westmoreland or Somerset area, if you live in the Badwin/ Butler area you want something toward Tionesta. Unless you are like me and retired, this stuff really does start to matter. From Churchill traveling to Northern Potter County, I can either take 22 to 287 to 6 or travel 28 to 66 to 6. The traffic on 22/220 is a killer at certain times. I stay at my place
in Potter/Tioga months at a time however, not just week ends. Good luck finding what you want within 90 miles of Pittsburgh today.

Tater and I`s cabin is in Halton, Elk County, I live in the south hills of Pittsburgh. If I don`t leave by around 2pm on friday or earlier, it is a nightmare getting there

Do you know if I can get a small loan for a camp? I prefer to not pull money out of investments in this market and would prefer a loan.

As long as you have decent credit you can get a loan. Everyone says how hard it is to get credit now a days...its not true unless you really dont deserve credit you can/will get a loan.
