Camp Names

Do most camps have a name? Is it like a boat in that it is bad luck if it doesn't have a name? Share your name and the story how you came up with that name if you like.

Re: Camp Names

we have had a camp since 86 that never has had a name. we tried coming up with a few but nothing ever stuck. we bought a 2nd camp in 08 and it had a name in the 1st year. its called turkeyhill camp my buddy works for a twnshp. and they had an old turkeyhill rd. sign they replaced so he brought it to camp and we hammerd it in the ground at the end of the lane, we love to turkey hunt, we always have turkey around the camp, and finally i love turkeyhill icedtea so it just worked.

Re: Camp Names

We named ours for a spot my pop hunted for many many years that was in the middle of a huge stand of hemlocks. His stand was called the hemlock haven.
So thats what we named the camp

Re: Camp Names

We had to go with Lost Creek Lodge....mostly b/c we're right on the lost creek, but also b/c every sole that attempts to find us gets lost! I do love camp!

Are we at camp yet?

Re: Camp Names

Cabin was named in 1928, buckhorn hunting camp, all anybody can figure is three of the five original members came from buckhorn pa!

Anybody can shoot deer on the farm ground....You earn it in the mountains.......
