Re: IN NEED OF A ROOF

If your interested I can get you the name of the Amish outfit that put a metal roof on my club's barn. They did a great job and had it done in one day and it is a big roof. The donw side is you would probably have to provide transportation for them.

Re: IN NEED OF A ROOF

I cant speak for all amish crews but for two different ones I have had experience with...they dont pay attention to finish detail and arnt the best listeners when you suggest something or point something out. For example I had some do a roofing job for me, they did it super fast and pretty decent however they refused to make sure I had enough material prior to starting and peed all inside and around my shed. ALso, I had 10 tubes of roofing tar for around the flashing of the chimney and the stink pipe. They used maybe 2. My chimney leaked luckily I found out prior to adding insulation and saw they didnt apply correctly. When my brother had them do a metal roof, they threw a ladder without any padding right on the roof and scratched it. They also did not caulk right around a stink pipe.

Again this is only from my experience but just be careful. I heard this from several people even a guy that strickly uses a amish crew as a contracting crew...they have 3 types of work: anyone quality (for people they do not know), friends quality (for people they know well), and family quality. Each level is very different.

Re: IN NEED OF A ROOF

I was looking at my roof also and kind of in need too. I have a amish built storage building i converted in to a cabin and works well. If i put a metal roof on wouldnt it be pretty noisy when it rained since its only a single story?
