Galeton Fireworks

I have been going to the Galeton, Potter County, fireworks since the mid 1980's, off and on.

Last night, we were in awe of the most spectacular fireworks display ANYWHERE!

The last three years up there have been nothing but INCREDIBLE.

My brother, who hadn't been there since the 80's said last night, "It was 25 minutes of a Grand Finale"! And he was right.

It was constant and in HUGE numbers each second. I don't know how many shells they put off, but it had to be in the THOUSANDS.

If anyone has never seen them, do yourself a favor, and get there. Just spectacular.

Thank you Galeton!

Re: Galeton Fireworks

I have heard good things. I don't know how such a small town funds something like that. Someday I'll get up there for it.

Re: Galeton Fireworks

I haven't seen them all over the years, but last nights display was definitely the best I've ever seen, anywhere.

Iím a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work the more I have of it.

Larry, they have volunteers going thru the crowd taking donations. I know my family gives generously each year.

Re: Galeton Fireworks

We have been there many times and watched the show over the years. We would take the camper and stay at Ole Bull state Park for a week. The fireworks there at Galeton are awesome.

My dad is 84 and went along. He can't wait to go next year, in spite of the difficulty of him walking to them.

There was some ambulance activity when they were over and that caused problems.

My daughter and brothers watched a woman fall and break her wrist, compound fracture, and was bleeding profusely. An ambulance was going past and they said they were almost bothered that they had to deal with the lady. She was going into shock and the bleeding could not be stopped. They wonder if she made it.

Re: Galeton Fireworks

Lets not forget the fire in the mountain on the norht side of town, the tree that fell along side of the Moose on Rte 6 and the rain---ahhh the rain. Cooled me off. The fireworks was a surprize this year with the sleds out on the lake. Nice flag portrait. The only thing that I ask is this?? What the heck happened for the finale?? I'm still standing waiting...The finale was not like other years. Maybe the rain was a factor. Anyway, it was good. Don't like the crowds but like the scenery!!!

Re: Galeton Fireworks

The whole 25 minutes was a "finale". Not sure anyone can do any better than what they do.
