AC at camp ?

Who has air conditioning at camp? My Pa camp does not, pretty stifling to be upstairs there this time of year. My "new to me" NY camp barely has windows, yet alone AC ! Pro's and cons ?

Re: AC at camp ?

I have a window mount AC at mine. On days like this it's all pros and no cons.

Re: AC at camp ?

I have a spring fed native trout stream 10 feet off of my back porch. The water is always cold and its also shaded by hemlocks. The prevailing breeze flows across it into my sliding glass door. I get nature's AC

I don't have ducks. I don't have rows. I have squirrels. And they're drunk.

Re: AC at camp ?

No AC. My windows are side sliding small windows that wont allow for a window unit to be put in. Solving that problem on friday by putting in a new regular window on opposite wall of great room that doesnt have one yet. No more sweatbox.

Re: AC at camp ?

we have a 10,000 btu unit in the living room and kitchen that keep the downstairs cool as a cucumber...got a tiny unit upstairs that keeps my room an icebox on a hot humid night like tonight...without it, sleeping upstairs on nights like 2nite are close to unbearable...the sun beats down on the roof all day, warming the attic to a hotter than [censored] temp...that heat is not released out of the attic and keeps upstairs feeling disgusting...love our ac's

My grandfather and his brothers used to hunt out of walled tents in the late 20's and early 30's.

Do you do that? If not, then yer a big sissy. LOL

My point is, times change and circumstances change. We go with the flow. Creature comforts can make camp even nicer.

Re: AC at camp ?

2 window units I want the wife and kid to enjoy there stays ,so we get up to the cabin more. if your windows don't allow a ac unit you could always get one those round units that sit on the floor in the middle of the room, I was working in a house that had one of those running the other week and it seemed to work well
