Spent the weekend at camp. My brother brought his 3 year daughter and his brother in law brought his daughter almost 2. They both had a blast. It was nice to have some young ones in camp. Hopefully with them and my grandchildren they will carry on the tradition. The weather was great and believe me there are still some trout left in the streams. Wife and I did well Friday and Saturday night. There was one thing that was really upsetting, dont want to start an argument about this but I personally am dead set against people camping along the streams. There is a very popular spot along Mill creek that gets used alot, only problem is that whoever is staying there is putting their garbage in bags and leaving it there, along with all of thier beer cans. I guess they think some one will come along and pick it up. Need more enforcement in that area.
Was up as well Pappy. Did well on the trout over your way. Saw lots of deer with fawns. Turkeys and poults. Grouse with their little ones. A nice bear. And a black squirrel.
Agree with ya on the trash. Its always been a bit of a mess over there.
Glad to year you had a great time. Nice catch and I wish I could make it up.
It is a shame when people leave a mess. I see many of the camping spots along Big Mill have numbers on them. I'm curious what they are for? Do you have to reserve the spot through the ANF. This would hold people more accountable for their behavior.
I saw a nice bear around camp as well. When we were fishing at Owl's Nest, my Brit got into the tall grass near the woods and locked up on a point. The next thing you know, turkey poults were flying everywhere. He didn't know which way to turn. All told, he put up around 10 or 12.
I don't have ducks. I don't have rows. I have squirrels. And they're drunk.
