Me and Wee Man's father's day trip

After a hectic week that saw me working late on both my days off, and regular work days keeping till after 9pm, I decided to take Thursday and Friday off and take the Wee Man to camp to celebrate father's day and my birthday with me. We set the minnow trap in our local pond and soon had a bunch of shiners. We spent Thursday fishing at Owl's nest. We were there about 5 minutes and Wee Man landed this guy....

16 inch largemouth...

I saw a good sized fish cruising the shore line and directed him to cast in an area. A few minutes later, he was hooping and hollaring. He wouldn't let me help and after about 10 minutes, he landed this 20" beauty....

Both were caught on his UL underspin rod I got him this spring.

Friday, we spent the day at a pond at our friend's camp. The Wee Man spent several hours slaying the bluegills...

He also really got into shooting his recurve this weekend. He established some good form and after a short while, was shooting well. I got this cool pic of him shooting and the mystical flight of the arrow....

Needless to say, I had a great weekend with the little guy who made me a father and the best belated birthday present I ever got

I don't have ducks. I don't have rows. I have squirrels. And they're drunk.

He'll be 7 next month. And you're right. That name won't fit him much longer. He's growing like a bad weed.
