Home from Potter

Just got home yesterday, spent 8 days at Camp.
Weather was crazy, Snow , Rain , Gusting Winds , Sunshine. More bad days than good.
Turkey's were pretty quiet, Fishing was decent though. 2 guys got 18" Rainbows and I caught a nice fat 15" Brown.
All and All is was just good getting away and the only thoughts of Corona was the ones that were cracked.

I am up there right now. Yes the birds were really quiet yesterday but heard some hens last evening going to roost behind camp. Heading home today and coming back up Thursday or Friday until Monday. I was hoping to find Morels but not luck, i did dig some leaks. There is no shortage of those around here my goodness, mountain sides just full of leaks.

Glad you had some fun and was safe. I find it is hard to come home and leave all that beauty and relaxing feeling that camp life has on a person. But I can always go back.

The departure from Camp is always sad, rain or shine.

Older I get, harder it is to have to leave camp.

Was just up last week for three days to open the place up, deal with whatever winter issues had arisen. Didn't even realize Memorial Day was kinda early this year, so am forced to go back up again next weekend.

Memorial Day Sunday it's the annual long trek around Potter, Tioga and Steuben counties. to visit the final resting places of assorted kinfolks. Paternal grand parents near Germania Station first, then oodles of 'em in Ulysses and a few more over in Whitesville, NY, including one that just passed during last deer season.

Figure the weather will be a tad warmer this trip? Was 25 last Wed. morning at camp.

DennyF. Safe travels next weekend when you go up. It is nice to hear that you pay tribute to your relatives that way.
