Potter County This Weekend!

Heading to camp this weekend with my wife, older daughter, and her husband. The daughter and son-in-law have never been there. Have to mow and do a few small things, but plan to spend most of the time driving around showing them why it's called "God's Country"! Probably will head to Benezette Saturday to see the elk. How are the leaves looking? The forecast looks sunny and dry for the weekend. The bow is staying home this time, but will be making the trip several times by mid-November. Anyone else headed that direction? Can't wait!

Re: Potter County This Weekend!

Well, I was there Saturday, and couldn't see many of the leaves for the fog. LOL

Did glimpse some across the valley and they looked nice. I'd imagine this weekend will be better, especially in the northern portion.

Should have waited a week...Flaming Foliage Festival Oct14-16th in Renovo and the leaves will be better. Even so, hope you have a great time.

Re: Potter County This Weekend!

This is the only weekend everyone could make it, so I really didn't have a choice, but I'll try to remember that for next fall. Even if the leaves aren't peak, we'll still have a great time. Thanks for the info.

Re: Potter County This Weekend!

Altitude this past weekend was key to the leaves. Around Cross Fork, there are some yellows and scarlets, but up around Denton Hill, the leaves are really getting close to peak. Go and have a good time! Note also that the brookies are really pretty right now, in full spawning colors!

Re: Potter County This Weekend!

More maples up in the Denton Hill area. Southern Potter is more oak. Not as vivid down that way, IMO.

Oh ok nice, our camp is up past costello by the austin-costello gun club. I still love to hunt up there even though you dont see as many deer as before.
