Very disappointed with my camp

Hey all,

I just want to express my disappoitment with my camp. I was 50/50 about joining back after several things I saw after last years deer season. I understand camps have a good amount of people. When I joined 3 years ago, I was told they like to keep the numbers between to maybe 10. When I joined, I had to meet everyone, prove I know how to properly hunt, and what not (I have no problem doing so). Well, I met three hunters who never had to do that. One hunter was given access and permission the same day he met the owners son, whats up with that? The guy was met at a local yard sale and was hunting the camp that day? Another hunter shot a yearling and I had no clue he was as close as he was to me. He moved his spot without telling anyone. We all go over where we will be sitting the night before. I then had to teach the guy how to gut a deer. Last year and the year before, clover was planted and the grass was maintained. This morning, I went to get my tree stand and take a drive around the property. Trees are down all over, the grass and weeds took over anything that the deer would like. The clover wasn't planted either. Very little sign of deer sign compared to last year. The camp costs $500 a year, where does my money go? It seems to me that the camp turned into a money maker and thats about it.

What would you guys do? Speak up to the owners or just pick up and leave? I think this is the sign for me to go and explore other camps.

(I would be more then happy to clean it all up btw)

Thanks for listening guys! Happy hunting!

x2. like everything else a good camp is hard to find unless you're in their "little click".

Save your money and buy your own camp.

Start with a small travel trailer or truck camper and go from there, you might find that you like the mobility of it. Plenty of free camping permits from the state foresty dept. For years I parked mine along the Quehanna highway just before the wildlife area, later purchased a camp with two friends, sold out after 20 years and went back to the RV. It opens up the entire state.

You need to talk to the one that took your money. What do you got to loose, you are not happy anyway.

I'd be gone. Camp is like family, or in my case, it is family.

Camp is more than paying money and hunting. I missed the part where you mowed the lawn and helped plant the clover. If you want to just show up and hunt go on a guided hunt if you want a good camp start helping out

There's hunting and there's hunting with a good dog
