Down in Greene Co when longwall mining takes cattle spring developments, they rig the water trough's with gravity feed, 400 gallon plastic tanks with some type of solar blanket. It keeps water liquid all winter. Water truck fills tank once a week or so. The blankets look like real heavy thick sleeping bag material, in black. They are custom made to exactly fit over the tank.
