Amazed

Am I the only one out there that watches in amazement at how many folks who have camps fuss about their TV, radio or cell phone reception. I'm not trying to offend anyone, but is there anyone like me that goes to camp to get away from this stuff? Just curious.

Re: Amazed

No TV/Radio...Campfire news/ Whipporwils/yotes singing fills the evenings. Do have a short walk to an open spot for cell service to check in with the wife.

Re: Amazed

same here. i've had the same landline at camp for almost 50 years. the only people that have the number is my family. the tv is a vintage 70's knob model with a dvd player hooked up. on rainy, nasty days we watch hogans hero's, F troop and various "guy" movies on dvd. radio is a 70's style stereo with fm that just barely pulls in the local station for those times when we need to rock out. i also have a record player and a bunch of hank williams jr, merle haggard, johnny paycheck albums. theres even a herb alpert and the tiajuana brass double album in the stack that gets played occasionally. i also don't let my kids bring their electronics to camp either. camp is "old school" for us. i remember when my parents were alive they had a dish tv. it was so weird to have all those channels coming in clear. when they passed away the satellite was cancelled.

My diploma is a DD Form 214

Re: Amazed

I agree Little Bear...however if this post was possible 50 years ago, guys would be complaining about camps havin water, electric or a sealed septic system. Signs of the times I guess.

I have CDO, its like OCD but the letters are in alphabetical order the way they should be.

How true, our camp got electricity the year after I was born so about 56 years ago. the Septic tank under the privy was 1974, only 37 years ago.

Electric came after the '55 flood ravaged Stroudsburg, etc.

4th Generation @ Kamp.
