Labor Day prep:

Heading up to camp in Lynch this Friday to mow, paint, and basically get ready for next weekend in which we will have 3-4 families with us. Labor Day weekend will be the most people in camp in a very long time...we are excited. The best part...I will make an attempt to convince seven kids that camp, .22's, hiking and fires are WAAAAAYYYY better than Ipods, Ds's and cell phones! Wish me luck on that.

I have CDO, its like OCD but the letters are in alphabetical order the way they should be.

Re: Labor Day prep:

Good luck. I fear the generation that agrees with that (which includes me) is dying off.

Re: Labor Day prep:

An FYI....the Sheffield Rod & Gun Club permits non-members to use their rifle range.....good place to take kids at this time of year as it shouldn't be crowded....

Have fun!

Re: Labor Day prep:

from my experience with my nephews, shooting guns, seeing a bear/deer/turkey/etc., and standing around a campfire in the middle of nowhere will still trump all of that electronic stuff.

Re: Labor Day prep:

only calling for 30% of scattered showers all weekend at my place. me and the boys are heading to camp as soon as they get off the bus. got a pork shoulder and 3 racks of babybacks for the smoker tomorrow. having a labor day potluck at my pavillion with all the neighbors. juniata looks a little low for a kayak trip but we'll probably wet a few lines. gonna split some firewood and not much else.

the main reason i built my pavillion was so i could still enjoy camp when its rainy. its 22x30 so it stays dry even when its pouring rain. only problem is that it has a metal roof and when its raining really hard you almost need earmuffs. and forget hail. you'll go deaf under there in a good hail storm.

My diploma is a DD Form 214
