Alternate foods for game

I like feeding game behind my cabin. I don't hunt there, it's not baiting and I don't want this to digress into a discussion about how right or wrong it is. My question is this - corn is getting very expensive and besides that I've read it's not good for deer over the winter because they can't digest it right that time of year. Does anyone have a creative food for feeding game over the winter - deer, beer, turkey, songbirds? I'm probably going to collect acorns this fall and keep the feeder full of them (maybe some beechnuts if I can find them and mix in a little sunflower or birdseed) but is there something commercially available cheap and good for them - dogfood? Something at a livestock store?

Horse feed (the pellet style stuff)
