Camp Taxes

It's that time of the year again to pay the County and Township real estate taxes for the camp. I wish the tax bills for my other two houses were like this! If I could only list them as "seasonal dwellings". I think I more than get my $35 worth out of the Township every year.

Is that just a Potter Co thing? I pay a lot more than that on my 2 cabins.

Can remember when we had no buildings were camp is now (had an RV camper there then) and the taxes ran around $60 a year, total. Sure ain't like that now?

With a roughly 700 square foot shanty on that same parcel, they're now over $1,500 a year.

Some folks' learnin' curves just look like circles...3A Camp/also hunt 4B

I think we pay close to a $1,000 a year on a 700 sq foot cabin , shed and 26 acres in clean and green

I'm just on a 1/4 acre with a single wide and a shed. And it's classifed as a "seasonal dwelling". That's why it's so cheap.

I'm at 1500.00 total taxes in Pymatuning , Crawford County . Those taxes are lower than my monthly electric bill at camp during the hunting season.

$1200 for camp and $590 for my house with the home stead use in the same county! Does not make any sense to me why the camp is so high! But I do not question it as I am not sure they have a garage on the 2nd lot listed.

One of my good friends has what appears to be a 3000 square-foot run down farmhouse. From the outside it looks like it needs bulldozed. The inside is amazing. Absolutely beautiful. All real hardwood floors. Custom kitchen. Worthy of a million house. He will never do the outside. Only maintain it. To what it looks like right now which is ugly but functional. Purely for tax purposes. If he makes the outside really nice his taxes will go up he thinks

Mine are less than that....about $23 total! Of course, I have a whopping 240 sq ft and no utilities and a rec. cabin permit.

Some of you guys are pretty lucky with the tax levels.

We have 45 acres and a 480 sq ft shabin....total taxes for a year are $553, and that's with the 45 acres in clean and green.
