Sproul Roads

Are the roads in the State Forest mostly ice free after this short warm spell? Dehass, Eddy Ridge etc..Thanks.

Clermont, while i can't say for sure I would say most of them probably are at this point.. I was out 144 a little farther Sunday and they were starting to melt alot. Alot of places there was no ice or snow

with sufficient thrust pigs fly just fine

Indeed they were. No ice or snow on any of the forest roads I traveled, just mud.

Last time I was in the Sproul, was in mid March back around 2002, on a PGC bear cub molestation tour.

Tough trek getting back in there, as the snow was halfways to our knees where we had to walk, although they'd run the snow on the road down quite a bit, before we headed in. Everyone was using 4x4 mode that morning.

Just past where we'd all parked, had just gotten settled and were preparing to walk back in the rest of the way and someone came roaring up the road out of a steep hollow in a jacked-up 4x4, throwing mud/snow all over

He got "whoa'd up" just in time to avoid running into any of the parked trucks/SUVs on that road.

Guess he wasn't expecting to come across anyone else that morning, when he was back in there raising Cane with "big foot"?

Some folks' learnin' curves just look like circles...3A Camp/also hunt 4B
