First Camp Break-In!!
Well, I have built a camp and it only took 1 1/2 years for our first camp break-in! The worst part about it is, my wife and daughter were there! THE NERVE!!! The worst part is they caught him red handed in the living room, but still he got away. Here is the short story. Our camp is in Clarion County. My wife and daughter went ahead of my son and I so they could get all the beds made and such. (plus my son had baseball practice) Well, when they got there nothing had seemed out of the ordinary. They went to doing there pre-camp chores so to speak. It was awfully warm so they opened all the windows in the camp. It wasnt but a 1/2 hour of making beds that my daughter had heard some crashing around in the living rm. Not knowing what it could be, she decided to go investigate. (To paint a small picture of our camp, we have 66' single wide with a slide out living rm. extension with a porch off the back.) When my daughter reached the living rm., she noticed a couple lamps knocked over and our chair by the porch window knocked out of the way. As she made it the rest of the way around the corner, she was face to face with our intruder. As soon as the intruder meet eyes with my daughter, he decided to escape though the screen window that he had entered in. After the escape and my daughters screems, my wife came out of the bedrooms to witness the mess our intruder had made. I think that black bear that decided to investigate our living room was just as surprised to see my daughter as she was to see it. If must have liked our throw pillow since it ran halfway across the yard with it in his mouth. The [censored] thing did [censored] me off when they showed me my floor mounted goose that it decided to bite the head off of. Needless to say, I have heard of bears entering homes or camps, but never really knew anyone that it had happened to. Well that is the story of my first camp break in, I hope you all got a little humor out of it!!
