My ex-wife used to make fun of me, but I engrave my name on just about everything I own. I have lost too many things to thieves, so I doodle my John Hancock on just about anything valueable. I have never found my own stolen item, but a friend of mine did at the dirt track one time. He had a 350 engine lifted from his pole barn, he always stamps his name on the motors he builds as a pride thing I guess. Anyway, while casually peeking under the hood of the suspected thief he sees his script on the engine. The police were then able to connect the bum to many more burglaries. Just a thought, if its got your name on it, they might not take it.
