Certified Property Appraiser

My parents are getting ready to move back down home. Me and a few friends are probably going to buy there place.
I am looking for an appraiser to evaluate and give us a price of the property. They need to be ceritifed in appraisal.
This would be in Potter Co. Any help would be appreciated. If you know of any you can pm me or post it here.
Thanks!!

Rick, I know it is your parents home and you don't want to low ball them, but, you would be better served by using an appraiser from Potter Co. as they are more in tune with property values in that area than one from someplace else.

Now is the time to get back at him for all the punishment as a kid!!

An appraiser from Potter Co. or close by is what I am looking for. I know some down here that could do it but they have no experience in appraiseing in Potter Co. We are just in the preliminary stages right now, and we may even pass on there place and build our own on our 53 acres. Depending on the price we can get we can build probably cheaper then buying theres and we dont need the comforts that are offered there now. Our first choice is to buy theres, but we are still paying our own mortgages and to take on to much right now isnt the smartest thing to do.

Re: Certified Property Appraiser

Why not just ask your parents what they want for it. Why would you have to deal with an appraiser?

Re: Certified Property Appraiser

A Certified Appraiser must use (and document)three comparison properties in the same local area that sold within the past year. Any differences between properties are fully reconciled when he/she compiles their market value.

A professional appraiser will apply purely objective opinions - in depth knowledge of Potter County is not a requirement.

I never heard of a "professional appraiser" and why would you even want an appraisal that didn't reflect the going market?
