Re: bedford area

Thats pretty much all around premium area. Beautiful country. I'd run an ad in the Bedford Gazette. Closest I got was Jenner Twp. but that isn't even Bedford but Somerset. Hang in there because people are starting to let some good property go these days.

Re: bedford area

Go to the Bedford Gazette website and click on real estate. It will show the local realtors in the area. Be prepared to spend 3k to 5k an acre unless you can find a private deal and they usually only go by word of mouth. Good luck, I have owned land there for ten years, some of the best hunting in PA.

Re: bedford area

last fall there was a nice setup near me. probably still available. trailer covered with a huge roof and porch on about 3 acres for around $80k. short walk to juniata river. not sure of the realter but its in cliffside acres and shouldn't be too hard to find.

Re: bedford area

I hunted that area a long time ago. Is the poaching still so bad? The one Saturday night I was down there it was hard to sleep, with all the shooting.

no the poaching is real good.

just kidding. you know it doesn't seem to be as obvious these days. i been going there for almost 50 years and i remember the midnight gunshots a lot. not much in my hearing area anymore. theres still a lot of yokels who seem to stretch the law though but i don't associate with them. i hunt all public ground and i think the locals stick to the posted farms where all the deer are.
