Arnot/Blossburg area

Anyone have a camp in lower Tioga county near Arnot? I found some property for sale there, State forest comes down and borders the town. Thought it was funny the sign when when you come into Arnot says "Please no hunting within borough limits". Looking for some feedback on the area.

Re: Arnot/Blossburg area

my wife and i are actually from blossburg, but moved about 10 yrs ago. beautiful place, and wish i could find a way to move back! but man is she a changing...GAS WELLS, GAS WELLS and more GAS WELLS! just this past wknd a truck full of gass well workers were flying through town at about 70 mph, lost control and smashed a bunch of signs and destroyed property! it was at 1 a.m so im sure you can guess what else they had been doing...
if you spend a bit of time in "downtown"arnot, there really is no such place, you'll see y the no hunting in borough limits sign is up...DEER EVERYWHERE!!!!!
several residents feed, and i have a buddy who lives in town and says its nothing to see 30-50 night out his front window

Re: Arnot/Blossburg area

we have a camp east of rt 15 close to morris run. we do however hunt deer in rifle season between arnot and morris. arnot has some residents and quite a few camps. it probably doubles in population during rifle season. i also concur with the gas well stuff. lots of activity in southeast tioga. as far as the deer population on tioga sf in the area, well- when a fellow hears maybe 15 shots the 1st day of rifle season and some camps dont even have trucks and lights on, there are no hunters there, you draw your own conclusion. there is a reason pa has lost 250000 liscence sales the last few years. anyway. i love the area. jason

Re: Arnot/Blossburg area

Not really sure what you mean, They say no hunting inside borough limits. This thread is almost a year old. The town runs into the state forest, its not uncommon to see deer in town.

Re: Arnot/Blossburg area

My concern is that if I buy the property and its 10 acres and end up not being able to hunt or shoot a gun on my property I'd be livid. The realtor couldn't tell me, the internet turns up nothing, just a few random signs leaving a give gaping whole in this purchase.

Re: Arnot/Blossburg area

Gotcha ! My opinion is, nobody in Arnot would care if you hunt on 10 acres, some would object if you shot one in front of the post office, others would help you drag it to the truck ! LOL! Just call the township, leave a message, they will tell you the scoop.

JMO
if the ten acre parcel you are considering is situated within boro limits , i think the sign it self should answer your question.
