Hey Perry County

I was up at the cabin over Memorial Day weekend. Did a little work on my porch rebuild. We went over to King's Bakery, outside of Blain, for chicken barbeque about 11:00. It was that many people there that they hay guys directing traffic. Had to wait for the chicken to get done. People were buying 10 and 12 halves at a time. It was really good! Any way I noticed in Blain, where the Antique store used to be beside Books, that they opened something in there. The sign said something about a café and Heating supplies? Anyone know anything about what's in there? I'm going up this weekend but will probably not get over that way.

Re: Hey Perry County

YH, Thanks for the report on your trip to camp. I wish I could help you out. The last time I was at camp in Perry, I noticed the same thing, that something was going on at that old store. I couldn't figure it out either. Hopefully, someone can help us out.

Re: Hey Perry County

Where do you mean? There was a little narrow place between Book's and the Senior Citizen Center. If you're an o!d fart like me it used to be Frownfelters. Don't know any other place it could be. Some used furniture and odds and ends out towards hardware.

Re: Hey Perry County

It's to the left of Book's. Most recently it was an Antique store that closed last year. It has big glass windows in the front that they had antiques displayed in. A friend of mine that has a cabin out past Blain is going up for 4th of July weekend. I told him to check it out and let me know.

Re: Hey Perry County

The store in question is mostly a heating store. Coal, wood and pellet stoves and the things to go with them. He does have a few other odds and ends. But mostly heating products. Did a turn and burn today to cut grass at camp get back home before the river rises tomorrow. Yardbird BBQ 3rd and 4th next week at Kings Bakery. It is very good. Will be getting to camp next Thursday evening.

Re: Hey Perry County

Thanks weasel. I won't be going up over the 4th of July, but will be going up the following weekend to go to the Amish School Benefit Auction on July 11. Always a good time with good food.
