Just received word that John Hanley owner of the Halton Hilton has passed away over this weekend.
Hopefully someone will keep the place running in his honor. RIP

The place had class.

I'm so far behind I think I'm in first place.

My camp is 2 miles as crow Flys from the hilton. He will be greatly missed. I was up camp friday night and planned on stopping in but cutting grass wore me out. RIP John.

Hopefully someone keeps the place going. Camp won't be the same. We've meet a lot of good people there over the years.

It is being considered a great tragedy at camp. Hopefully, they reopen, and get the kitchen back in order. The belly buster is stuff of legend.

We’re not going to apologize for caring. We’re not.

Re: Halton Hilton owner passes

There won't ever be another man like John or his mother.
Stories like the ones I heard about their family is the stuff that makes legends.

Mom never smiled.

If you wanted a drink on a Saturday afternoon, you had to pound on the windows of John's truck to wake him up, because he slept in the parking lot.

The big hole on the bathroom wall.

The garden hose stuck in the stream running behind and beneath the bar that they used for running water.

The walls being papered with Dollar Bill's!

Always drink your beer from the bottle, make sure he opens it in front of you!

No Smoking on the nights when he didn't want to clean the bar.

No Television, but a jukebox that could be heard from a mile away!

Deer meat in the belly buster burger.

15 year old's being served at the bar, as long as they had money! You couldn't go to High School in Brockway without going at least one time to the Hilton before you graduated!
