Fish camp journal.

Alot of this will be dry reading, but this is what I did at camp,or how it went.

Could hardly wait! But camper is packed and ready to go to trout camp.
Left home about 11:15 and pulled into Medix Run about 11:45.
Took about 15 minutes to get camper leveled and all pilot lights lit.
Had camper plugged in to A/C at home to make sure refridgerator was working and stocked it before leaving.
Put up large screen tent and the "outhouse" tent.
Got camper all set up and decided to go look at stream.
It's in good shape, just a bit high but running clear.Didn't see any trout, but didn't put on waders,so I couldn't go from hole to hole.
Put on a new dose of tick repellant on Daisy, and she is having a great time in her new "back" yard.
Took a walk with her downstream about 2:00pm.
Saw a woodcock, tried to put on video. Will see how it turns out ,if at all.
No one around and have only seen 3 cars since I got here.
Made quick supper of beef, taters, onion, green beans.
Pretty good as Daisy had to have seconds.
7:00pm.getting pretty dark here in the valley, but sky still bright at top of tree line. Can't have a camp fire this time of the year.Wish I could, pretty chilly out now so moved into camper.Fired up a propane lantern for heat, light and save on the battery.Daisy is behind me,snuggled up in the pillows and blanket.
Made a drink and sitting here playing Yahtzee.Put on slippers and picked up a western novel.
Very quiet out here today.Only wildlife was the woodcock and 3 crows flying overhead.

Thursday 16.
Got up early, put on coffee,,smells soooo good.made a couple fried egg ham, cheese sandwiches. Daisy had to have one,,of course.
Walked upstream from camp to one nice hole.Lots of trout in this one.Over 50 that I could see, mixed batch, brook, brown, couple bows.
Laid down for a bit,had door open for dog.
About 2:00pm heard some distant barking.
Got up to make sure she didn't take off.
Saw 11 deer and then a pack of at least 5 coyotes chasing them.Don't know if they brought one down, but quiet afterwards.
Two trucks, different ways stopped but not next to each other.Don't know if they saw them or not.
About 15 minutes later,my buddy Jim stopped by.
Going to stay the night.
Made burgers, fries, onion, then played cards. Was up till after midnight.
Got up early, made breakfast for us.

Friday 17,alot more traffic on the road.
10:20,coyotes started barking again.Did not see them.Few birds, couple buzzards, but that it for game.Jimmy took off for home about 12:30 pm.
Rained, leak around rear window,,few things got wet,but no major damage.
3 guys stopped by asking where I was gonna fish.Good time BSing. Lots of traffic now.30 plus people checking out that one hole behind camp.
Group of youngsters pulled in to site 10 and set up camp.At least they are quiet.
Nice night out,67 according to my thermo. in shorts and tee hoping Dad shows up.Daisy being really good girl.

Saturday 18.
Happy birthday Dad!!!
Dad and his buddy Ron showed up about 6:00am.
Had coffee on,we [censored] and then got geared up to go to stream.People were at that hole at 5:00am.
I fished until about 9:30 then came back to camp and put on another pot of coffee and started to make breakfast. They showed up about 10:30-10:45 ate and then we just sat around and shot the bull until about 3:30.Then they both had to leave,
Not going to bore you with Sun,Mon,Tues, stuff. Pretty much the same grind,,day for day.
But I did see and videod a black bear on Tuesday. Got pretty close to camp.
Drove home Wed. morning

true pleasure is a pair of red eyes coming at you in the night
