Marienville/Halton area snow?

Been 3 weeks since my last attempt at camp. 3 weeks ago still had snow up over my knees on driveway all 400 yards of it. Anyone have updates? Hoping to head up next weekend. I got firewood to cut

Was not up this weekend but as of Tuesday the 24th, Tionesta had up to 8 inches on the north facing slopes none on the southern exposures and patchy brown showing all over the flats

Re: Marienville/Halton area snow?

still about 6-8 inches of very hard crusted snow all over the halton area. where the sun hits its down alomost to the ground but in shaded areas its still thick and crusty

take a kid hunting and fishing it will keep them out of trouble

Re: Marienville/Halton area snow?

a lot of the snow has melted, but as said above, the 6 inches or so that is still there has a very hard crust on it. Hopefully this weeks weather takes care of the snow, Thursday should really help!!

Re: Marienville/Halton area snow?

I was up this weekend. Almost bare ground in Marienville. If you get up towards Russell City, you are looking at 12-15 inches of solid snow. I could walk across the top of it. Truck had no chance of going through it.

Smoke'n Mack,

Do you mean the town of Marienville or the ANF surrounding Marienville?

Re: Marienville/Halton area snow?

Thanks everyone. I made it up last saturday. Camp made it thru winter. I decided to run quad around camp to break thru top later of snow. On drive home I decide to drive by the Hilton. the dirt road along spring creek was a sheet of ice very bad condition. Hoping that's not what I did to camp breaking top layer off. Heading up Friday for the weekend.

In the town of Marienville I could see grass when I went through. You get just a little north of town, and it was still a foot deep in the woods.
