snow around tionesta 1/24

What are the snow conditions like up north?

Is there a crust?

The deer didn't disappear.... the 250,000 guys who used to walk around and make the deer move did.

Re: snow around tionesta 1/24

7-8 inches last weekend at the top of German Hill just outside of Tionesta. No crust but it was very dense snow. Not wet snow either. There hasn't been much in the way of temps above freezing so it probably hasn't crusted yet. Been watching all week cuz I'm planning on taking the quad up Monday to clear my road in to camp. Hoping I can get it plowed before another big snowfall.

Any newer updates would be welcome!!

Darn near a foot outside Marienville on Saturday the 16th. That day it was a little above freezing and sunny. No crusting, but the snow was getting heavy. They were expecting another 1-3 inches by Monday, but I wasn't there by then and don't know what happened.

There's a foot plus on top of German hill now. Brought quad and plow with me and got stuck 50 yards from camp pulling the quad trailer in. Cutting the first swath was a chore but luckily there was no crust. Just a whole lotta snow. it's powdery but heavy for its depth. Kindo of like the stuff you'd normally see way north of here in Canada.

Balltown's gotten two inches in the last hour and it's still coming down...at least 8 on the ground with a thin crust beneath the new snow...got none of the freezing rain today..

Oops just stopped snowing....for now
