Sandy Run Road

Anyone been on Sandy Run Road lately? I was up 2 weekends ago and it was clear, but we all know how quickly that changes.
Thanks...

Re: Sandy Run Road

For those interested I was up and down it and it was fine. I did put the chains on. There were others who weren't using them and did fine too, but why take them if your not gonna use them.

Re: Sandy Run Road

Do you mean State Line Road? Big Sandy and Little Sandy Runs cross it.

Re: Sandy Run Road

Squeaks , I belonged to a camp on top of that mountain years ago , but have since dropped out . We had 60 acres and the place was called Red Top Rattlers . Mostly went up for the trout fishing . Are the train cars still up there ?

Enjoy each day afield as if it were your last.....take the time to take it all in !

Re: Sandy Run Road

Finn, I am still new to the area so I'm not sure about the cars... where would they be? That would be a cool exploration trip with the kids to see.

Re: Sandy Run Road

They are on top of the mountain and a short dirt lane to the left . No rails , just a few train cars sitting there in a small clearing . Nobody seems to know how they got there . Lots of bear up there !

Enjoy each day afield as if it were your last.....take the time to take it all in !

Re: Sandy Run Road

Are they off Sandy or Boone?
Yes... more bear then anything else.
