Another Memorable Season

I just got teary eyed when I started typing, thinking of hearing my sons voice calling me on the radio, "Dad I got a deer". I have twin 14 year old sons who are the main blessings, out of many I have in my life. Coming from being born premature at 2 and 3 pounds and now at the point where I will soon be looking up to them is amazing. Noah has scored deer the last two seasons and Jeremiah had a few misses, later to find there was an issue with his scope. He is now on the board! This was the 3rd year they came to camp with "the guys". They both have been honor roll students and for that they get a pass for two days for the 2nd week of hunting. We had the whole crew there, about 14 of us between two camps. In my line of work to be able to have a camp and get away with my family and the best friends anyone could ask for is beyond a blessing. I remember hunting and fishing with my dad and brother and my dad's buddies, most of which have passed on or no longer hunt or fish. I remember camping every weekend with my family and throughout school being on the mountain almost every weekend with my best friend at his camp. I dreamed of one day owning a camp and after many years of looking and disappointments, I scored my place 7 years ago this November. I am looking forward to more hunting after Christmas and fishing season, which will be here before we know it. Watching my sons and my Dad talking and comparing Bass lures and techniques is classic. I am looking forward to my Goddaughter's joining the TR crew and experiencing the joys of camp and all it has to offer. Merry Christmas and a healthy, safe and Happy New Year to the HPA family.

Re: Another Memorable Season

Great stuff and here's a prayer for many more memorable seasons at camp.

My son is 40 and only makes it up now and then, but I still recall how much fun it was having him up for his first deer season 28 years ago. Pretty sure my dad and I enjoyed it as much as he did.

Congrats. Having the kids start to have success surely is a great feeling as a parent. Enjoy the memories.
