Re: Alone in the wilderness

Love that show.

Amazing what a human by himself can accomplish and keep his sanity.

The short clips really don't do it justice. I record it every time PBS airs it and have a CD as well.

Re: Alone in the wilderness

I've seen the PBS documentary so many times that when I read the book, it was in Richard Proenneke's voice.

Eh...wot?

Love that show, watch it every time I catch it on the tv. Have read the book as well and that is really good as well. He is one talented and persistent person. I caught some unreleased footage last year some time I believe.

Re: Alone in the wilderness

A classic. Always enjoy watching it. A guy at work just watched a good portion of it for the first time. Apparently he'd never even heard anything of it before either. He starts telling me he was watching "some show about this guy that lives in the woods in some cabin he built himself" and I smile & say "yeah, Dick Proeneke, Alone in the Wilderness. Great show."
