I wouldn't advise anyone to travel either one of those roads without having tire chains for both front and rear axles, in case you need them.

The way that you wander is the way that you choose,
The day that you tarry is the day that you lose.
Sunshine or thunder, a man will always wonder.
Where the fair wind blows.

Re: Beech Creek mountain ?

This morning I traveled the entire length of Beech Creek Road. Except for about 200 yards south of the Iron Gate road (where gas company road maintenance ends) two wheel drive all the way. The short patch of ice did not cover the whole road and easily traveled with 4wd.

The side roads off the higher elevations of Beech Creek (Coon Run Road) still looked like a sheet of ice. Other side roads off Beech Creek maintained looked good.

The side roads off the higher elevations of 144 from Snow Shoe to Beech Creek road looked bad. (DeHaas Road, PenRose, and a couple others).

Sorry for the late update. Had some distractions this PM and then got wrapped up in looking at trail cam pics from Sat to today. Looks good for next year. Three different bucks that were legal this year and a spike.
