Re: Fire Pit Pics/Suggestions

thanks for the reply that is pretty much the setup we have now. We are looking to go bigger in diameter. Like a tractor rim or a welded steel ring maybe. Thanks for the input

Re: Fire Pit Pics/Suggestions

We've had a 20" or 22" truck rim fire ring for years, where we have our clan reunions in Potter. It's one of those extra wide ones for a "super single" type truck tire.

Block 'em up off the ground about 6" or so and they'll draw pretty well.

Then someone brought a bigger tractor rim up and used it between their RVs. It's probably 28 or 30 inches and plenty wide (deep).

So now we're gonna swap that for the "tiny" truck rim back in the edge of the woods where folks have gathered around the fire for the past 30 years. The younger members of the clan like the bigger fire. So far only a few of the geezers have grumbled.

Progress.

Some folks' learnin' curves just look like circles...3A Camp/also hunt 4B

Anybody can shoot deer on the farm ground....You earn it in the mountains.......

I know where I live our local high school tech center make fire rings out of 1/8" steel hex shape with a cooking surface for $50.00, you might want to check them out. I have one and they work great!
