Clinton county

Looks like we are buying our camp back. Been 6 years since we hunted up there.
mostly south of renovo We did ok during the lean years, hunted hard, killed some buck, bear and turkey.

Was curious how game numbers look now.

RonM,
I own a camp not too far from you... as per your description of where you camp it... they hunting has gotten a lot better up there! No doubt you'll be happy with the changes!

Re: Clinton county

Yes camp was off eagleton rd...But we hunted everywhere from shoemaker, bakers, cranberry, benjamin, mill branch , boggs, Mckloskey, Fishdam, hall run...ect...ect.

We covered some ground, scouted hard, hunted hard. alway's managed to find deer, but they where few and far between, just wondering if things have improved in the last 5 years.

Re: Clinton county

I'm on Beach Creek Mountain Road..about a mile south of Eagleton. We have only owned the place for 2 years and i was told the deer population was down in numbers. I have only hunted the area 2 days and killed a dear on the 2nd. The trail cam's are very active. One camera was out for 2 weeks this past may and I had 492 pictures including Deer, Bobcat, 3 different bears, a flock of turkeys, and (2( raccoons. Kids get a kick out of running around the sand piles to try to figure out the tracks. By the sign that is around the area, the game numbers are pretty good. Haven't encountered many hunters during my past 30-40 trips to camp.

Re: Clinton county

I've hunted turkeys over the years up off of Mill Rd, south of Renovo but I mostly stay on the other side of the river.

Re: Clinton county

Always plentiful for bear, and big bear at that, used to have to wait for poults to cross Beech Creek deer, deer were never abundant the last few years up there, but you could go back in a ways and find them........

Re: Clinton county

This is just my unscientific observation, but it's pretty similar to when you hunted up there 6 years ago. If there are acorns, bear numbers are good. If no acorns like last year, things are quiet in bear season. I think the deer numbers are constant from when you were last year. For whatever reason, it seems like I'm not seeing as many turkeys as I did 5 or 6 years ago. Could just be a coincidence though.
